The lens is actually tinted the color so that it is more transparent. This way you can see the chrome reflector behind the LEDs. It is a very sharp looking light! The housing is 1" thick. This thickness makes it perfect for if you are using the chrome grommet covers (bezels) because it ends up being close to flush with the face of the bezel.
